Solanum centrale
The bush tomato grows on a small shrub in the very arid desert regions of Australia, and is still hand harvested by Aboriginal Australians. Its definite pungent tomato flavour and aroma is similar to that of sundried tomatoes, only stronger and less acidic. Add to casseroles and stews, dips and chutneys; infuse olive oil for a twist; great addition to pasta sauces and pizza base sauce.
