Canberra Store Manager

The role is based at our busy Canberra store.

The Store Manager’s primary role is to facilitate the smooth day-to-day operations of our busy retail store. The Store Manager is responsible for driving and achieving sales budgets as well as ensuring an outstanding level of customer service is delivered at all times. You will lead a medium sized team including an ASM and casuals. Maintaining store presentation & completing visual merchandising updates are expected and you will manage administration & inventory for the store.

Maintaining the brand and business ethics in all of these aspects is of the highest importance.

National Visual Merchandiser 

The Visual Merchandiser is responsible for the visual presentation of the Gewürzhaus retail stores. They lead the charge from inception through to the execution of all seasonal changes, including the window displays. The Visual Merchandiser is also responsible for maintaining the daily excellence in store presentation through frequent store visits to optimise displays based on results.

Responsibilities:

  • Increase sales through effective visual merchandising in stores and monitor on a weekly basis via sales and stock reports
  • Brainstorm concepts and designs for seasonal displays, including window and in-store
  • Develop an installation plan for each seasonal bump in, including a mood board, props required and distribution plan
  • Sourcing of all props and managing production of collateral and crafting
  • Clear communication to all stores via photographing and documenting install, and creating a guide for stores to follow.

What are we looking for:

  • Degree level qualification in Design, Arts, Visual Merchandising or other relevant discipline
  • Minimum 2-3 years visual presentation experience
  • Project management experience with exceptional attention to detail and an eye for design
  • Comfortable using basic hand and power tools, lifting, working on a ladder and undertaking out of hours installation, as well as travelling to interstate stores
  • Strong understanding of design and styling
  • Highly developed time management skills
  • Fully competent in Adobe Creative Suite & Microsoft Office Suite.

Bookkeeper/Junior Accountant

We have an opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper/Junior Accountant to support the operations of our growing business within our accounts team.

Working closely with your team and manager, you work autonomously to maintain the business’ books at all times. You are a confident administrator who has expert knowledge in MYOB and DEPUTY. Your diligence and attention to detail are second nature, ensuring your work is accurate, transparent and up to date at all times.

Your responsibilities include:

  • End to end use for company MYOB file
  • DEPUTY payroll and workforce management
  • Invoicing, Accounts Payable / Receivable
  • BAS/GST/Payroll Tax
  • Preparation of cash accounts for reconciliation
  • Understanding of journal entries and when they need to be applied
  • End to end superannuation payments
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Basic preparation and presentation of balance sheets and profit and loss statements
  • Accounts administration
  • Chart of Accounts housekeeping
  • Liaising with external accountants
  • Set up employee files and contracts
  • Manage staff leave entitlements

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified bookkeeper with a minimum Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping)
  • 3+ years experience MYOB software is essential
  • 3+ years experience in a relevant Accounts role
  • You will be able to demonstrate well rounded bookkeeping knowledge with a focus on detail and accuracy
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills with focus on Excel and spreadsheets
  • Experience with DEPUTY workforce system preferential
