This classic blend of aromatic whole spices is a pantry staple for all your brining and pickling needs. Piquant, fruity and colourful, English Pickling Spice enhances the flavour of preserved vegetables and boiled or brined meats such as corned beef.

Use whole in a muslin bag, or crush, add directly and remove after cooking. Use approximately 1 heaped tbsp of spice per 1kg of vegetables.
Mustard seed, pepper, coriander, allspice, ginger, fennel, mace, clove, bay leaf, chilli.

The perfect, classic, ploughman's pickle

I'm a fairly experienced pickler, but love the ease of Gewúrzhaus's English Pickling Spice spice mix. The perfect blend of sweet, umami, and tart, it really elevates the flavour profile of even the simplest pickle.

Found it!

I had been attempting to create my own pickling spice mix based on what supermarkets have but it just wasn’t right. Then I found the mixture made by Gewurzhaus….it’s perfect. We do a lot of preserving, bottling, etc….our spiced chilli is tops!

Great in red wine gravy

I added this spice blend to a red wine gravy to go with roasted beef. Yumm.
