Our Salt & Pepper Squid Spice honours salt and pepper squid's Chinese roots with the floral, buzzing warmth of Sichuan pepper that complements a mouthwatering medley of two other peppers, chilli and salt. Use instead of regular salt and pepper to keep your dishes buzzing with flavour.
For the most mouthwatering salt and pepper squid ever, heat peanut oil to 180°C in a frying pan. Mix 4 tbsp of rice flour and 4 tbsp of spice and dust 500g of cleaned and scored squid with the mix. Fry immediately in oil for approximately 60 seconds or until crisp. Also great for tofu and prawns, cooked the same way, or with panko breadcrumbs instead of flour.
