Spaghetti alla Bolognese

While spaghetti bolognese enjoys immense popularity outside Italy and is a staple in almost every Australian home, it never existed in Bologna, where ragù alla Bolognese was the traditional dish.

Today’s version uses spaghetti rather than egg pastas such as tagliatelle, more tomato and no milk or cream. This blend of herbs and spices will enhance the flavours of any bolognese sauce, as well as minestrone soup, moussaka or napolitana sauce.

Use 1 tbsp per kg of mince. For an easy appetiser, warm olives gently in olive oil and 2 tsp of spice. Serve with crusty bread and drinks.
Red bell pepper, garlic, oregano, sea salt, chilli, thyme, parsley, pepper.

Love this!

This blend is perfect!, and I too add it towards the end of a slow cook. Just adds that extra something special, cannot imagine not having this in my pantry!

Delicious

Add this at the end of cooking a slow simmer sauce. That was the best recommendation I received from the helpful staff at the Canberra store when I first starting buying this. I now keep several large jars in storage. Creates a hearty, comforting, bolognese. Good price too. It would cost you more to make this blend yourself from scratch, trust me; we use so much I looked into it!
