Delicious spice mix

The mix of spices made for an authentic tasting butter chicken which was quick and easy to make

The complaints I have relate to trivial issues I noticed while cooking this.

1. The mouth of the jar does not fit a standard tablespoon so it makes it fiddly to add the spice to the pot

2. I would err on the side of adding a little more spice mix than the recipe recommends

3. For a restaurant tasting butter chicken I’d add a couple of tablespoons of sugar - the recipe as is had an appropriate amount of spice but didn’t taste like the butter chicken I get at Indian restaurants (I’m not Indian but I have visited LOTS of restaurants and butter chicken is always my go to!) until I added the sugar

4. Coconut cream was an interesting addition and certainly the flavour of the coconut wasn’t so obvious as to be weird but I think I’ll stick to yoghurt and cream next time

Great for vegans too!

I cooked up some chickpeas and made a sauce using the spice blend, a can of crushed tomatoes, plant milk and coconut essence. Towards the end of cooking these ingredients together I added spinach leaves and then served with basmati rice and fresh coriander. It is extremely tasty and will be on high rotation from now on!!

Unequalled flavour depth

This is one of the few dishes that everyone at the table compliments. This blend seriously needs to be made in a larger jar!
