Technology Manager- Collingwood, VIC (Full Time)

About The Role

As Technology Manager, you’ll be the sole technology function at Gewürzhaus — inheriting a working but fragmented environment, and setting about building something cohesive, modern and genuinely useful. You’ll report directly to the CEO, make independent decisions across the full stack, and be the company’s trusted voice on all things digital, data and AI.

This isn’t a maintenance role. The primary strategic focus is AI-led acceleration: identifying where AI can compress timelines and eliminate manual effort, building fast, and embedding change across the business. Alongside that, there are integrations to build, a data platform to mature, and a technology foundation to lay for a business with ambitious growth plans. Key responsibilities will be;

AI & Automation (Primary Strategic Focus)

• Lead AI adoption across the business with urgency — identifying real opportunities, building fast and shipping solutions that save time and reduce effort.
• Build AI-assisted workflows and automations that compress project timelines and eliminate manual processes across the organisation.
• Upskill the team on AI tools and embed a culture of continuous automation improvement.
• Stay ahead of the curve — continuously scanning for AI and automation capabilities relevant to retail, operations and data.

IT Infrastructure & Operations

• Own all IT infrastructure: networks, devices, servers and point-of-sale systems across 15 stores and head office.
• Ensure uptime and reliability across the business, acting as the escalation point for technical issues.
• Manage hardware, vendor contracts and support agreements.

Data, Reporting & Business Intelligence

• Own the data lake / warehouse infrastructure and the pipelines that feed it.
• Build dashboards and self-service reporting tools that help the team make better decisions.
• Champion a data-driven culture — making quality data easy to find and act on.

SaaS & Systems

• Administer and optimise the full SaaS stack — POS, e-commerce, inventory, operations.
• Drive integrations between systems to reduce manual work and unlock better data flow.
• Manage software spend and evaluate new tools against a clear business case.

Security, Compliance & Strategy

• Maintain the company’s cyber security posture and PCI-DSS compliance.
• Maintain a technology roadmap aligned to business priorities.
• Report regularly to the CEO on technology performance, projects and spend.
