A popular Korean grilled meat dish, this tender Korean BBQ Beef is full of flavour that only takes minutes to cook. Serve it as a main dish, use it to make bibimbap, lettuce cups, wraps or even tacos.
200g sirloin steak (scotch fillet, flank or skirt steak will also work)
2 tsp of Gewürzhaus Korean Gochugaru Blend
3 tsp of soy sauce (or tamari)
1 tsp of brown sugar
3 tsp of rice cooking wine (or mirin)
2 tsp of sesame oil
2 tsp of pear, grated
2 tsp of green onion, chopped
2 tsp of Gewürzhaus Sesame Seeds (Golden), toasted.
Mix the marinade ingredients together.
Thinly slice the steak and combine with marinade.
Cover and refrigerate for between 1-24 hours.
Cook the beef in batches on a smoking hot grill or skillet for about 2 minutes.
Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
To make it easier to thinly slice the beef, freeze it for an hour before slicing.
The pear helps to tenderise the meat while adding a touch of sweetness. You can also substitute it with grated apple or pureed kiwifruit.
Cooking on a cast iron skillet will help to sear the meat while locking in the juices.
