Melbourne Coffee Meat Rub

Rated 4.7 out of 5
Based on 3 reviews

This Southern-style meat rub will change the way you barbecue forever. We rescue imperfect coffee beans from Melbourne’s best roasters and combine them with activated charcoal, smoky chipotle chilli and earthy cocoa to make a blend that packs a rich, deep and satisfying punch.

Use it as a dry rub on chicken drumsticks, lamb cutlets or a prime steak; make a wet rub for portabello mushrooms or eggplant; combine with honey for sticky pork ribs, or flavour a beef brisket.
Flake salt, coffee beans, garlic, smoked paprika, sweet paprika, coriander, chipotle chilli, cocoa, cumin, activated charcoal, cayenne, oregano.

Chilli con carne

Do yourself a favour and make some chilli with this spice mix. The coffee and cocoa in it make it so rich and smooth.

You don’t specifically taste the coffee or the chocolate, but it really is the best mix I’ve found for chilli. You obviously need to add your own chilli, but this takes care of the rest.

The perfect rub!!!

This meat rub is simply the best. I use this rub on blade steak and then I pop it in the slowcooker for 10 hours on low. It also makes a fabulous gravy. I am going to try it for lamb or beef on the bbq as well this summer.

Tried on steak for father's Day. Not a strong coffee taste which is perfect for the non coffee drinkers on my household. Next time I'll let to sit longer and didn't permeate steak much
