Oma Rosa's Gulasch

Rated 5.0 out of 5
Based on 2 reviews

Our great grandmother Rosa taught us how to make this traditional Hungarian gulyás and we still love it! With classic flavours of paprika and aromatic stewing spices of onion, garlic, celery and bay leaf, this versatile blend may also be used to braise meats and vegetables, and to flavour any tomato-based dishes such as minestrone and red sauces.

Brown 2–3 sliced onions in oil until golden, add 800g diced pork (not too lean), seal and season with 2 tablespoons of spice. Add water to just cover and cook for 30 min, then add 1kg rinsed, drained sauerkraut and top with water again. Cook covered until meat is soft. Season and serve with pure cream or sour cream. Tip: For best results, use a pressure cooker.
Paprika, sea salt, onion, pepper, garlic, celery, bay leaf.

Packs a punch!

Love this Goulash blend. It brings me straight back to my European Winter Childhood. I grew up in the Netherlands and came to Australia in my early twenties. This blend is just amazing and packs a punch!
