Za'atar

Rated 4.9 out of 5
Based on 18 reviews

Za’atar is zesty, floral, aromatic Middle Eastern spice blend with a nutty textural crunch. Usually eaten by dipping unleavened bread in olive oil and the spice, or baked onto bread as a paste, za’atar is high in antioxidants and vitamin D, making it a healthy, delicious snack.

Thyme, one of the main ingredients in this blend – and another name for za'atar in the Middle East – is given to Palestinian children before school to boost their intelligence.

Try as a topping on dips, feta and halloumi cheese, or as a flavour enhancer for sandwiches, wraps and soups.
Sesame seed, sumac, sea salt, thyme, oregano, basil, marjoram.

Spice Heaven

Don’t be heavy handed with the cumin in the capsicum dish. But that dish and the grapefruit one complement each other.
