3 medium onions, cut horizontally into 2cm thick slices
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup plain flour
1/2 tbsp Gewürzhaus Kosher Salt
1/2 cup semolina
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp Gewürzhaus Melbourne Coffee Meat Rub
Vegetable oil for frying
Place onion slices into a bowl with the buttermilk and soak while preparing the dry ingredients.
Spread the dry ingredients out on a small baking tray and set aside.
Place the oil into a deep pot and heat to approximately 190℃ (using a thermoter to check)
Drain the buttermilk off the onions and toss each ring in the dry ingredients ensuring they are well coated.
Fry the onion rings until golden brown then drain on paper towel. Once they are all cooked, season to taste.
Serve on the side of the plate with the Melbourne Coffee Meat Rub Burger
