This semi-hot chilli from the northern region of India has a wonderfully bright red hue with a fruity and fresh chilli aroma. A good all-round chilli to add to curries and sauces, seafood and poultry dishes, or quickly blanched vegetables in a light sauce.
Flavour Notes: Medium heat, fruity chilli flavour
Cuisine: Indian
Heat Level: 2/5
Mild seedless chilli is made by deseeding the fruit of long chilli to remove some of the heat, then chopping to form a crushed flake. Excellent in pasta, risotto and other dishes where you want visual appeal and just a friendly suggestion of heat. Its bright colour lifts barbecue seafood marinades and poultry dishes. Seedless chilli also sticks to food better than its seeded counterpart.
Heat Level: 6/10
With delicious aromas of chocolate and cherry, these brownish-black, mild to medium chillies are traditionally used in Mexican moles, as well as other sauces and stews.
Heat Level: 3/10
A sampler version of our top selling spice blend, this spice sachet and matching recipe is a thoughtful way to introduce Gewürzhaus spices to family and friends.
Make your own all-natural, umami-rich chilli oil in minutes. Add one part of the blend to four parts of hot neutral oil. Heat the oil over medium-low heat until it reaches 180°C. Use this condiment to bring instant flavour and depth to your stir fries, noodles or even pizza. Mix in Chilli Flakes or Sichuan Pepper to dial up the heat.
Affectionately named 'little raisin' due to its resemblance to both the colour and flavour of raisins, the pasilla chilli is one of the main ingredients in Mexican mole. With chocolate overtones and a delicious fruitiness, this chilli is a must try. In its ground form, it is ready to use straight from the jar, ideal for quick moles, braises and marinades.
Heat Level: 4/10

With chocolate overtones and a delicious fruitiness, this chilli is a must try. These whole dried pods can be rehydrated whole for a rounder mole sauce, or can be toasted and ground fresh for a more vibrant powder.

Also known as Chile Mosquito, this small yet hot Mexican varietal is a domesticated relative of the Tepin Chilli. We use this chilli in our English Pickling Spice, but it is also good for giving heat and flavour to vinegars, salsas and sauces. With a smoky, nutty and citrus-like taste, its neat, rounded shape is also pleasing to the eye.
Heat Level: 9/10
Considerably hot with a unique flavour combination using three different chillies: the fruitiness from seedless chilli flakes, heat from Birdseye chilli and texture from long chilli. Our Chilli Salt is a great all-rounder and can be used instead of regular salt on pizza, pasta, steak or any other meal that needs a kick. Warning: this salt is addictive.
Flavour Notes: Spicy, salty
Cuisine: South East Asian
Heat Level: 3/5
Inspired by the age-old Yucatan dish cochinita pibil, this rub helps you cook an authentic Mexican family favourite at home. With smokiness and a mild, earthy heat from chipotle, and vibrancy from the traditional annatto seed, this blend is a sure-fire hit for lovers of Mexican food. Make low-and-slow pulled pork to serve in tacos, burritos, with rice and beans, in sliders or as a pizza topping. This versatile blend also makes a delicious chipotle mayo and combines well with beans for a vegetarian taco filling.
Flavour Notes: Smoky, savoury, earthy, medium heat
Cuisine: Mexican

This carefully crafted spice blend contains all the Christmas spices to bake the traditional puddings and rich fruit cakes which fill your house with warm and sweet smells. An old tradition dictates that Christmas pudding be made on the last Sunday before Advent. Cooks combine their secret ingredients - dried fruits, nuts, swigs of this and that liquor. Before putting it in cloth, every member of the family stirs the pudding and makes a special wish.
Open a jar of our Cinnamon and once you smell the difference, you’ll realise that not all cinnamon is the same.
Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum - literally 'true cinnamon') is grown in Sri Lanka and has a sweeter, more floral and delicate character than anything you've likely used before. Our A Grade is the finest tier available, with a high essential oil content and an exceptional fragrance straight from the jar.
Subtly sweet and woody, cinnamon imparts a delicate warmth that melds and harmonises other flavours. It is beautiful used in baking, porridge and warm drinks, or added to savoury Moroccan and Indian dishes such as tagines and curries for a subtle, aromatic sweetness.
One of Japan's most beloved condiments, furikake is a delicious finishing sprinkle that adds flavour, texture and savoury umami to rice dishes, salads, poke bowls, or even smashed avocado on toast. Our take combines the traditional nori seaweed flakes and toasted sesame seeds with a fresh citrus twist from finger lime, makrut lime leaf and orange peel. Itadakimasu!

Stick your nose into a sack of cloves and you will understand why ancient mariners claimed to smell the approach of the clove islands while still far out to sea. A terrific and much-used pungent addition to Christmas ham and baked goods, stewed and pickled fruit and vegetables, cakes, pastries and biscuits, German Glühwein, and many North African spice blends. This ground clove is milled fine and ready to use straight from the jar, an ideal option where whole cloves would be too strong or difficult to remove.
