- Avoid excessive moisture. Never wash or submerge the mill in water or place it in the dishwasher
- Store in a cool, dry place
- Avoid grinding over steaming pots, as moisture may clog the mechanism
- If the mechanism clogs, loosen it and clean it with a small brush
- Never use salt in a pepper mill. Salt mills are suitable for dry sea salt or rock salt, but not wet salt or salt flakes
- The metal casing will naturally oxidise over time. Polish with a suitable metal cleaner, or remove heavier corrosion with a scouring pad, then wipe clean and dry
Based in Thessaloniki in northern Greece, Alexander Mills is a family-run company that has produced handcrafted grinding mills since 1977. The robust design of the mills is based on a portable coffee mill created in the early 1900s for Greek soldiers to use in the field. Each mill combines traditional craftsmanship with practical, long-lasting design.
