This Salt Box Sands Made is hand-made carefully selected American oak, and built to last for generations, which is a polite way of saying it will outlive the kitchen it starts in.

Keep it by the stove for a pinch mid stir, or fill it with coffee, tea, herbs, spices or sugar instead and let the salt fend for itself.

White oak is high density and durable in the kitchen. The timber is FSC certified, harvested from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits, and its natural strength keeps it stable through years of daily use.

Not dishwasher safe
Clean wooden boards with a gentle detergent, or with lemon and salt.
Do not leave the board submerged in water, as the timber can absorb excess moisture and swell.
After cleaning, dry the board on its edge in a well ventilated area, away from extreme heat or cold.
To treat stains or odours, spread a generous amount of salt and lemon over the affected area and leave it for five minutes. Rub the surface with a clean, damp sponge or paper towel. Remove the mixture with a flat edged scraper, wipe the board with a clean cloth and allow it to air dry overnight.
