Heat the oil in a large, deep saucepan on medium heat. Add 3 or 4 kernels of popping corn to the oil. Have a large bowl ready nearby to catch your popcorn.
When the kernels have popped, add the remaining corn. Immediately remove from the heat, cover and shake the pot for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, place the pan back on the heat.
When the kernels start popping, continue to shake the pan over the heat to help the unpopped kernels make their way to the oil. If your popcorn reaches the lid while continuing to pop vigorously, quickly release some into the bowl to make room and return to the stove.
When the popping has slowed to one pop every 2-3 seconds, transfer the popcorn into the large bowl.
Immediately place the butter in the pan with the heat off. Once it has melted, pour the butter over the popcorn and distribute it evenly with a wooden spoon.
Sprinkle the Popcorn Blend as evenly as possible over the buttered popcorn, stirring as you go.
