A quick & flavourful recipe that will be popular with everyone in the house. Our Hawker-Style BBQ Blend does all the heavy lifting to marinate the chicken, packed with turmeric, lemongrass, onion and ginger to transport you to the street food flavours of Malaysia and Singapore. Simply fire up the barbie, put together a salad and dinner is ready to go.

Ingredients

1kg chicken thigh, diced into 2cm pieces (or left whole if not making skewers)
4 tbsp Gewürzhaus Hawker-Style BBQ Blend
4 tbsp peanut oil
1 lemon

To serve

Steamed rice
Cucumbers, sliced
Red onion, thinly sliced

Directions

Place the chicken in a bowl and sprinkle evenly with Hawker-Style BBQ Blend.
Add peanut oil and mix well to thoroughly coat the chicken.
If making skewers, thread the cubed chicken onto soaked skewers; otherwise leave thighs whole.
Set aside to marinate for 10 minutes, or longer in the fridge if desired.
Preheat a barbecue or grill pan to medium-high heat.
Cook the chicken, turning regularly (10–12 minutes for skewers or 15–20 minutes for whole thighs) until cooked through and lightly charred.
Remove from heat and rest for 5 minutes.
To serve, squeeze over some lemon juice and plate alongside steamed rice, cucumber and red onion.

We added tps of Italian chilli and garlic oil blend to the marinade. Worked a treat

Please make this a new product soon. If not, how about a recipe for making it from other spices/blend?. I’m suffering withdrawal symptoms since my advent calendar supply ran out!
