Apple Cake Spice is a fragrant spice that adds a wonderful depth to apple cake, and can replace mixed spice in many recipes. Add it to fruit pie filling or directly into the dough. Rose petal and calming chamomile help create a delicate blend that can enhance sweet and savoury dishes alike.

To make approximately 500ml of apple sauce, use ¾ tsp of spice and 5 apples. Try it with pork or cauliflower, and in rice dishes together with cardamom and lemon rind.

Aroma of cinnamon

First used it in my dear old mum's apple sauce -it added another layer of flavour, the next recipes to try it in are requested from other family members - apple & cinnamon muffins, and apple pie and fruit strudel. I am sure it will add a new dimension to all the old favourites.

Favourite spice mix

Apple cake spice mix
