  • Create a grown up chocolate tart using this blend in place of regular cocoa. Try our recipe for a vegan, gluten-free, no-bake Chocolate Chilli Tart.
  • Stir 3 tsp into a rich mole or pan sauce for game or red meat. See our recipe for Seared Venison with Chilli Chocolate Sauce for details.
  • A little goes a long way in savoury cooking, but baking requires a generous half-cup. The spice scales from accent to hero depending on the dish.

The Mayans began mixing cocoa with ground chilli and spices as early as AD 460, when they discovered the fantastic taste and health benefits of Mayan Chilli Chocolate. Rich, earthy and chocolatey with a slow-building heat that lingers rather than shouts. This blend is at home in both sweet and savoury dishes, from grown-up chocolate desserts to rich sauces and traditional Mexican moles.

FAQs
