What’s in Season in Summer

21 December 2023

Mango juice dripping down your chin, sand between your toes and yet another attempt at Pavlova… It must be summer! Long, warm days call for easy cooking. The kind of cooking that doesn’t require much more than some lazy chopping or quick pan frying.

Luckily, when it comes to fresh produce we really are spoiled for choice during the warmer months. Celebrate summer by serving up the best that the season has to offer.

Apricot, avocado, banana, blackberries, blueberries, boysenberries, cherries, currants, fig, grapes, grapefruit, lemon, lime, loganberries, lychee, mango, mulberries, nectarine, orange (Valencia), papaya, passionfruit, peach, pear (Bartlett, William) pineapple, plum, rambutan, raspberries, rockmelon, strawberries, watermelon

The choices are many when it comes to using up your summer fruit bounty. Stone fruit and berries work particularly well in baked goods, and tropical fruit such as mango and pineapple really complement luscious desserts like cheesecake.
