Chocolate Spice uses Double Dutch cocoa and fragrant winter spices of ginger, clove and nutmeg to give warmth to baked goods, cookies and hot chocolate. Simply substitute Chocolate Spice for some of the cocoa in any chocolate-flavoured recipe. It's delicious when used to spice up chocolate cakes, cream fillings or added to your morning coffee for a spiced mocha.

Regular cocoa is acidic and has a sharper, more astringent flavour. Double Dutch cocoa is alkalized ("Dutch-processed"), which neutralizes its pH and gives it a smoother, deeper, less bitter flavour and darker colour.

Yes. Substitute the spice with half of the cocoa in any chocolate recipe. Ratios may vary depending on quantity of cocoa required. Note that it won't react with baking soda the same way natural cocoa does, so it's best to stick with regular cocoa if your recipe requires a rise.

No, there's no sugar in this blend.

It does, but blends best when warmed (the spices need heat to bloom). For iced lattes, dissolve in a splash of hot milk first.
